Best of the Box
The Old Testament has really been getting some attention the last couple of weeks. In Box 1, I posted The Documentary Hypothesis, talking about the two creation stories in the early chapters of Genesis. In Box 2, David J. from FPR guest-posted Names of God over at BCC, reviewing the various names and titles applied to God in the Old Testament. There were some nice points added in the comments, too.
Box 3 delivers with Mogget’s piece on Creation and Fall Narratives (giving us “anthropopatheia” as the word of the week) and David J.’s piece on the Septuagint. FPR contributed yet another post with Ben’s guest post on OT Names. All I can say is that if you read all of these OT posts carefully, you will impress everyone in your Sunday School class for weeks to come.
Other posts: I’ll give Guy the nod for this quick post on Pres. Hinckley’s hospital visit; LYMA for Applying Constitutional Interpretation Methods to the Scriptures (please leave him a comment!); and (for sheer pluck) Bookslinger’s Yoruba at the Laundramat. I also found this piece on a printing museum in Provo rather interesting. It should give the Bean Museum a little competition!

Between those three posts at FPR, there was but one lone non-FPR comment. I don’t know if we scared everyone away or if they’re just silenced in awe…

That was my comment.

I have just come to the conclusion that we are just so darn good that no-one feels the need to comment on our perfect posts (an effect also seen at Mormon Wasp)
