BoH: Banner Art Gallery
I had hoped to recover all of the original photos from the Banner of Heaven blog, but alas, it was not to be. However, below are some of the pictures that came into my possession during the course of putting this all together. There are obviously other pictures around–including the Obey Aaron! t-shirt and the photo of Aaron, both of which can be seen here.
For the uninitiated, MSTP was introduced by Kurt in response to Jenn’s boob-shelving incident. The relevant comment can be seen here.

I love art.
But isn’t there an “I survived Bannergate 2010″ tee? If I was in charge I’d “hire” Matsby.

It was good to finally see the context of the original comment linking Monkey Steals the Peach. Thanks.
And thanks for the whole BoH retrospective, Scott B. It’s been interesting and sorta fun.

My t-shirt has a matching game on the back…

Miranda’s neck was digitally altered, wasn’t it?
Comment by ESO — June 30, 2010 @ 5:14 pm
I hope that neck is altered because it is freaky long.
Comment by Geoff J — June 30, 2010 @ 5:23 pm
Her neck isn’t really that long. It’s just the way her hair sits on her clavicles in that picture.

Glory, laud and honor to Kurt for introducing culture to the Bloggernackle.

I don’t remember Greg Fox looking like that. Was that the real picture? Goodness! I can’t believe he was so freaky looking.
Comment by meems — July 1, 2010 @ 12:25 am
I agree with meems. I don’t remember that being his picture at all. If he even did have a picture. Plus, this alleged was clearly shot in a studio and looks super fake. I call shenanigans.

I think it’s a bit misleading to call the photos that we didn’t use “rejected” photos. When I first got the site up and running, I put up filler biographical material and photos that I thought were funny in light of the character descriptions we’d chosen and the story arcs associated with them. So, for example, I thought the “rejected” photo of Septimus was a pretty funny photo to put up as a placeholder until Brian G gave us one to use.
So they weren’t ever “rejected,” it’s more like these were DKL’s idea of the most retarded portrayal possible. So it should probably read, “DKL’s retarded photo of Mari Collier,” etc.
At any rate, I think that the photo that you have listed for Greg Fox is actually “DKL’s retarded photo of Aaron Cox.”

Fair enough, DKL–I will fix them in the morning.
In my defense, the title of the image when I received it in email was “Funny_Greg.jpg” if I recall correctly. I just do what I’m told…

I was thinking the same thing about the Greg photo, meems and Ned, but figured I just didn’t have a great memory. Thanks for speaking up–I don’t feel so crazy now.

That guy who’s the rejected picture of Greg won Last Comic Standing. He’s pretty darn funny. I need a new T-shirt. Mine just plain wore out.

Okay, I fixed the captions to reflect the updated information.
