Happy Birthday, Bab!
Today is the Birth of the Bab.
Born Ali Muhammed in Iran on October 20, 1819, the Bab (as he was later known) was supposedly a direct descendant of Muhammed and foretold, John the Baptist-style, the coming of a great prophet. That prophet was Baha’ullah, the founder of the Baha’i faith, headquartered today in Haifa, Israel. An interesting (if a little strange) site claims that Joseph Smith was also a forerunner of Baha’ism.

Wow, that was fascinating. Thanks for the interesting read. And so what do you make of Bab and Baha’ullah? Instruments of our Father in Heaven to help give guidance to those who would otherwise not be ready/able to accept the fullness of the gospel, or instruments of Satan? I’ve often pondered about Mohammed in the same way, having lived in various Muslim countries. Did he really speak with Gabriel? Was the Koran dictated by an angel to help along those people when the Gospel hadn’t yet been restored, or was the vision actually there to deceive countless peoples for centuries to come?

Instruments of Satan? No.
Beyond that…maybe some day I’ll post. Good questions, meems.
