By dictum of House Resolution 207 of the Missouri General Assembly, a two day academic conference will be held in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of Governor Bond’s repeal of the infamous extermination order and the 175th anniversary of the church’s establishment in the state. The conference will be held in the State Capitol building in Jefferson City September 7th and 8th and will include several notable scholars.

The Conference will be divided into four sessions:

Session I: The Context of Conflict
Session II: The Influence of the Missouri Experience on Later Ideas and Planning
Session III: Political and Legal Milieux
Session IV: Personality and Place

The abstracts are available and include papers from luminaries such as Jan Shipps, Susan Easton Black, Jeffery Walke and Ronald Romig.

Conference registration is $25 with an additional $30 for a celebratory banquet.

Also noted on the MormonHistory.org website is the availability of Missouri death certificates in an online database.
