Niblet Run-Off

Bloggernacle “Niblet” Awards 2005: Vote in the run-off election

Results are in for the Niblets. There have been a few outright victories, but many of the races have been within the margin of ballot-stuffing error. We are therefore going to have a final run-off vote.

Rationale? First, Wilfried’s “Coffee” post was mistakenly left off the ballot and so we had to re-run that category anyway. Second, “honest in all your dealings” doesn’t necessarily translate to blogpolls (half of the votes for me as best blogger came from my dad, sister, and best mate, all of whom don’t even read the blogs!) Yep, I know the game: one vote from home, one from work, one from your BlackBerry, and one from grandma. In a race as earth-shatteringly important as this, justice and truth must prevail!

Anyway, where polls were within 5% they are now in the run-off. The Great and Final Awards will be announced in the new year via a special Zeitcast (along with scintillating punditry and analysis). You have until January 7.

Here are the results of the “tight” races (outright winners will be announced on the Zeitcast):

1. Best “Big Islands” Blog (percentage; total vote)
BCC 34.9%	60
T&S 39% 67

2. Best Other Group Blog
Nine Moons 24.4% 38
New Cool Thang 19.2%	30

3. Best Solo Blog
Viva Ned Flanders	31.4%	49
Dave’s Mormon Inquiry	26.9%	42

4. Best Blogger
FMH Lisa	24.6%	43
Wilfried	20%	35

8. Worst Thing About the Bloggernacle 2005
Bannergate witchhunt	25%	41
Trolls 25%	41
“Conservative” vs. “Liberal” silliness	27.4%	45

10. Best Post
Why I Believe (LisaB: FMH)	26.8%	42
(+ “Coffee” by popular demand)
