Weekly Zeitgeist
Oh! Hello there! Welcome back, dear Reader, for another installment of El Zeitgeist. So what wonderment did the Bloggernacle bring us this week?
Actually, this week was a big downer:
- Yours Truly wallows in self-pity.
- Millennial Star tries again to justify contention and abortion.
- Much ado about sidebars: Clark rethinks his, Dave ponders the meaning of sidebar existence, BCC drops their sideblog, etc., etc. p.s. Dave: Worst. Banner. Image. Ever.
- Mark tries to build a doctrinal Twiki. Oops, I mean Wiki.
- Rusty ponders what would happen if Mormonism proves false. His answer: not much.
- Tumbaga is important, despite the rantings of some idiots; almost as important as name-dropping.
Meh. Not a lot going on, besides our own navels. Maybe this is our cigarette after last week’s sexcapades? You make me sad, Bloggernacle. May as well give the Zeitgeist this week to Millennial Star. Top 5 themes
were:
- Depression;
- Staking doctrinal claims;
- the Dark Side;
- 42; and
- Domestic squabbles.
Curelom, my
bloggernacle familiar, predicted church history and doctrine,
along with rites of spring and discussions of communism. Hmm. Well, all of those points were indeed hit this week, so she keeps her job for now. But my prediction of Don’tLet’sStart was a bit too ambitious, despite it being an enjoyable blog. So this week: a return to hedonism, financial matters, and the arm of flesh. BCC shall reign supreme!!

Where has 42 been discussed? I was hoping it would come up and that someone would finally give us the right question.

In Issue No. 2, Eric James Stone posted an article entitled 42. I think it was just a clever advance marketing ploy by Adams, as there are no doubt a few thousand fanatics now sitting through repeated showings of the Hitchhiker movie, so when they are asked how many times they have seen it, they can reply: “42.”
